people aged 12 and up will have to show proof of vaccination against covid-19 to visit the canadian museum of nature, canadian museum of history, canadian war museum, ingenium–canada’s museums of science and innovation, and the national gallery of canada as of next month.
“as public institutions, the proof of vaccination requirement offers another step to preserve the safety of visitors and staff, and to contribute to helping eliminate the spread of the covid-19 virus,” according to the statement from ingenium.

“the national museums will also require all employees to be fully vaccinated, in alignment with recently announced federal guidelines,” added ingenium, which operates the canada agriculture and food museum, the canada aviation and space museum and the canada science and technology museum.

the measures will go into effect dec. 1, according to statements issued simultaneously monday.
to be considered fully vaccinated, visitors must have completed a full series of a health canada-approved covid-19 vaccine at least 14 days before their visit. they must present a paper or digital copy of their vaccination receipt plus government-issued id including their name and date of birth.
