jonny wakefield is the edmonton journal/edmonton sun's justice reporter, covering courts, crime, policing and other issues. he joined the newsroom in 2017 after three years at a newspaper in the b.c. peace region. he grew up in washington state and is a dual canadian/u.s. citizen.
