he said the court orders at the centre of the contempt allegations had to clearly and unequivocally state what should and should not be done, the parties must have had actual knowledge of the orders and intentionally committed acts, or omissions as required.
“all three had ample knowledge of the existence of the court orders,” germain said.
“the orders were clear and unambiguous and the breach of them was deliberate and willful. nor were there any legally recognizable excuses,” he said.
“there is no turning back from this.”
the first breach by pawlowski involved his refusal to allow access to his church by a health inspector there to ensure he and his congregation were complying with the measures designed to combat the third wave of the novel coronavirus as it crippled alberta’s health system, the judge noted.
he and his brother, dawid, violated a second order when an inspector showed up with members of the calgary police service and was once again denied access.

all three remain at liberty pending sentencing hearings on july 27.
