this peak in the vaccine rollout will come after some montrealers complained this week of having to wait hours in line at clinics while others ran into problems moving up a second shot . as a consequence, authorities are urging the public to remain patient during the ramp-up in vaccinations.
“the next two weeks will be a real puzzle, i’m telling you,” said francine dupuis , associate director of montreal’s centre-west health authority.
“the list goes on and on. we’re not only going to have to vaccinate the students and those who have appointments, but also those who walk in because they couldn’t get through the clic santé system. we’re going ahead with those age groups for the second doses. we also have to vaccinate people with intellectual disabilities and people living in the rpas (private seniors’ residences) and hlms (subsidized housing).”
