the saskatchewan government says that all public health orders — including the mandatory masking order and limits on events and gathering sizes — will be removed as of july 11.
the province announced on the weekend that step 3 of the provincial reopening plan would move ahead as 70 per cent of all residents over the age of 18 and 69 per cent of all residents over the age of 12 have received their first covid-19 vaccine dose.
“we are able to make this announcement because so many saskatchewan residents have done their part by getting vaccinated, so i’d like to say thanks to saskatchewan people,” premier scott moe said in a statement issued on sunday.
“over the past 15 months, saskatchewan residents have diligently followed public health guidelines and restrictions, and over the past months they have followed through by getting vaccinated.”

reopening plan step 2 in effect sunday

saskatchewan loosened more public health measures on sunday, as the second phase of its reopening plan began. new measures include raising the limit on private indoor gatherings from 10 to 15 people.

as many as 150 people will be able to gather for public indoor gatherings, at places like community halls or funeral homes. those venues will still have to enforce rules like social distancing and mask wear as required.

the outdoor gathering limit for both private and public events, as well as movie theatres, art galleries and libraries increases to 150. casinos and bingo halls can reopen, with an 150-person capacity as long as physical distancing can be maintained.
the limit on people at a single table in restaurants and bars will lift, although such establishments will still be required to keep two metres of distance between tables or set up a barrier between them. personal service and retail businesses will no longer have a maximum capacity, with proper distancing.
remaining restrictions on youth sports will be lifted.
