microkatals per litre (mckat/l)
a microkatal is a unit of measurement used in chemistry to describe enzyme reactions. a catalyst starts or speeds up a chemical reaction. enzymes are proteins that act as catalysts in the body. a catalyst measures one katal if it causes a chemical reaction at one mole per second. a litre is a measure of volume that is a little more than a quart.
