fine for vegans
most of us have heard of the notion that hyaluronic acid and vitamin c are good for our skin, and this vita-active foundation by fitglow beauty has both. founded by anna buss, a polish-canadian who launched the brand after searching high and low for remedies for her own battles with rosacea, pigmentation and sensitive skin, the brand’s foundation also has seaweed, which helps brighten the skin, and beta-carotene, which increases collagen production and the skin’s elasticity.
skin splurge
if you’ve heard of la prairie, you’ve either coveted or are familiar with its super-luxe skin care. but did you know that the brand’s skin caviar line — probably its best known range — also includes two foundations? choose from either a cream or a fluid formula; the latter is perhaps a bit more travel friendly, with a compact that’s infused with caviar water. simply press down lightly on the bubble to release a dot of the foundation. bonus: each compact even comes with a replacement bubble and formula refill.

hydrate, hydrate, hydrate
one of the most common signs of maturing skin is loss of elasticity, which is why hydration is so key: well-hydrated skin feels more comfortable, looks smoother and healthier, and has a stronger barrier to fight the signs of pollution. enter this studio radiance serum-powered foundation, which comes in 56 shades and delivers a 10 per cent hyaluronic acid solution for both instant and 12-hour hydration.
swiss formula

double duty
makeup that doubles as skin care isn’t new, but that doesn’t mean we’re not excited when we learn about a product that does it particularly well. case in point: make up for ever’s hd skin hydra glow foundation, which pegs itself as an 86 per cent skin-care-based foundation and has over 500 reviews on sephora’s website. the key skin care ingredient is hyaluronic acid, which we know has excellent hydrating properties, while we’re guessing the other 14 per cent of the formula is the makeup part with medium coverage and a luminous, glowy finish.
