248 city workers suspended over toronto's mandatory vaccination rules

30,204 city employes are fully vaccinated

three-hundred and five more city employees are reporting full covid-19 vaccination as the deadline on the city’s mandate draws nearer — while the number of workers suspended for not complying with the new rules now sits at 248.
in a press release, the city said 168 more employees opted to disclose their vaccination status to management since sunday, leaving only 396 who have yet to do so.
three-hundred twenty six workers completed a vaccination disclosure form, the city said, but opted not to disclose their vaccination status.
so far, 31,910 municipal workers have disclosed their status to management, with 30,204 of those reporting full vaccination and 1,016 only receiving one shot.
the number of workers who say they’ve received no covid-19 vaccine currently sits at 370 — 38 less than what was reported oct. 31.
starting this week, meetings between management and undeclared/unvaccinated workers commenced, with those deemed noncompliant with the city’s policy being placed on six-week, unpaid leave.
fifty-one workers are on leave as their requests for accommodation are considered.
