the b.c. college of physicians and surgeons has issued a citation for dr. charles douglas hoffe, who practises in lytton and kamloops

a disciplinary panel will hold a hearing about alleged misconduct by a b.c. doctor after he made “misleading, incorrect or inflammatory” statements about covid-19 on social media.
the b.c. college of physicians and surgeons has issued a citation for charles douglas hoffe, a family doctor who practises in and around lytton and kamloops.
the college alleges hoffe’s online comments contravened the standards of the health professions act including the canadian medical association’s code of ethics and professionalism.
among the wrong or inflammatory statements hoffe is alleged to have published online around april 2021:
• that “ivermectin is an advisable treatment for covid-19” and that “the public obtain ivermectin from animal feed stores.”
• that covid-19 vaccinations cause “microscopic blood clots that cause serious neurological harm, female infertility and a high number of deaths … not recognized by public health.”
• that “vaccinated persons can cause harm to unvaccinated persons.”
the college says those statements “were misleading, incorrect or inflammatory about vaccinations, treatments and public measures relating to covid-19.”
a discipline committee panel will hold a hearing on the allegations at a date to be announced.
