peel regional police have charged a 19-year-old woodbridge man and a youth in two separate jewelry store robberies in mississauga.
cops say on aug. 26 at 3:15 p.m., three bandits entered a jewelry store in the area of burnhamthorpe rd. w. and erin mills pkwy. with their faces concealed and began smashing display cases and removing various pieces of jewelry before fleeing.
police also say on aug. 28 at 7 p.m., two of the same bandits entered the jewelry department of a store in the area of erin mills pkwy. and eglinton ave. w. armed with a hammer and a firearm, and proceeded to smash the glass display cases, stealing multiple pieces of jewelry before fleeing.
shortly after the second robbery, officers arrested the two suspects in toronto, allegedly in a stolen vehicle and in possession of property from the offences, as well as a replica firearm.
ali-cem vural, along with one other young person, have each been charged with two counts of robbery and wearing a disguise, and three counts of possession of stolen property.
this investigation is ongoing and police anticipate more charges could be laid.

a 22-year-old toronto man has been charged in connection with two retail robberies in the city’s west end.
toronto police allege on june 23, around 6:15 p.m., two masked men entered a motel in the west mall and the east mall area, and one produced a handgun and demanded cash before they fled with the money.
it’s further alleged that on aug. 17, at around 4:55 p.m., a masked man entered convenience store in the area of kipling ave. and dixon rd., produced a handgun and demanded cash – but left empty handed.
police say a search warrant was executed on aug. 28 and officers allegedly recovered items of evidentiary value related to the investigation.
a suspect was arrested.
kyrie wilson is charged with two counts each of robbery with firearm, disguise with intent and fail to comply with probation.

home invasion in flamborough
hamilton police are investigating a flamborough home invasion after someone broke into a residence and stole a mercedes.
cops say on aug 28, around 1 a.m., a resident woke up to glass shattering in his house and was met by a crook who demanded the keys to his 2022 black mercedes g wagon.

the suspect left in the vehicle, which was last seen heading towards waterdown rd., and the victim did not suffer any physical injuries.
police are requesting the public’s assistance in checking their cctv cameras between 12:45 a.m. and 1:15 a.m. on aug. 28 in the area of great falls blvd. for suspicious activity.
