an employee of trillium health partners (thp) has been accused of sexually assaulting a vulnerable elderly female hospital patient.
peel regional police say the force’s special victims unit was called to investigate earlier this month.
the victim was uninjured in the alleged assault.
toronto resident william soto, 32, a part-time patient care assistant, has been charged with sexual assault.

toronto cops hunt attacker
toronto police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in an october assault investigation.
officers responded to a report that a person had been assaulted in the area of nathan phillips square around 5 p.m. on oct. 22, according to police.
the assault resulted from a verbal altercation and an attacker allegedly headbutted, spat on and pushed the victim before fleeing.

he is described as 5-foot-9, 30-35 years old, 180-200 pounds, with a medium build and a beard.

pawn shop standoff ends peacefully
three suspected robbers surrendered after a standoff with cops at a west-end pawn shop.

toronto police reported that officers were called to the store around queen st. w. and gladstone ave., on saturday at about 5:20 p.m. for a robbery call.
the trio had been locked inside the store. it isn’t known if the lock-in was by design or accident.
the store’s owners and customers were able to leave without incident. negotiators eventually came to assist and just before 9 p.m., the trio surrendered.
