one dog has died and two others got sick after ingesting a poisonous substance at a popular north vancouver dog park, said rcmp.  the three incidents occurred on oct. 4 and 5 at lynnmouth park at 1322 cotton drive. dog owners reported their pets became ill after ingesting something at the off-leash park. one of the dogs died shortly after, said police.
const. mansoor sahak of north vancouver rcmp said it is too early to tell whether the incidents were a result of a deliberate attempt to poison dogs, or whether the dogs were poisoned after inadvertently ingesting a toxic plant or mushroom.
“at this time we have no evidence that this was an intentional act, but we are investigating all possibilities.”
police are asking people who frequent the park to be vigilant about their dogs and to report anything suspicious.
anyone with information about the incidents are asked to call rcmp at 604-985-1311.
