four men and a boy from scarborough are accused of a smash-and-grab robbery thursday night in hamilton. hamilton police said officers were called to a robbery in progress at an ancaster business at about 8:50 p.m. after a vehicle reversed through the front window of the establishment.
according to police, the suspects pointed a gun at the owner before smashing the displays.
the owner was taken to hospital with minor injuries, cops said. there were no customers in the store at the time.
the suspects fled the scene on foot to a nearby vehicle.
several police units were actively patrolling the area at the time and were able to quickly apprehend five suspects, cops said.
the men, who ranged in age from 18 to 20, along with a youth were charged with robbery, disguise with intent, mischief over $5,000, theft over $5,000, and possession of property obtained by crime.
police say investigators are still looking for one more suspect and another vehicle that was involved in the robbery.

the suspect is described as male, non-white with long black hair and a beard. he was wearing an all-black addidas track suit.
