public health authorities are warning people who ate sushi bought at a st-jacques st. w. supermarket they might have been exposed to hepatitis a.the warning concerns sushi prepared at the provigo located at 6600 st-jacques st. w. in n.d.g. from nov. 17 to 20 and on nov. 24 and 25, the direction régionale de santé publique de montréal said friday night in an emailed statement.while the risk of transmission is low, health authorities are advising people who haven’t already been vaccinated against hepatitis a and have never had the disease before to quickly contact info-santé at 811 to make an appointment to receive a vaccine. vaccination will be offered free of charge. people are asked to bring their health insurance card and vaccination record.people who ate the sushi are also advised to watch for symptoms of hepatitis a by jan. 13, and to consult a doctor promptly if they develop the following symptoms: lack of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fever, general malaise, fatigue and jaundice.eating sushi is not a risk for people who have been adequately vaccinated against hepatitis a or who have had the disease in the past, health authorities said.
