peel cops are warning residents of brampton and mississauga that joseph faulkner, 31, poses 'a danger to children'

a warning has been issued to residents of brampton and mississauga about a high-risk sex offender who has been released into the community last week.
peel regional police issued the public safety advisory to alert area residents that 31-year-old joseph faulkner, poses “a danger to children,” was released from custody on wednesday.
the convicted sex offender will be living in the area of wilkinson and tomken rds. – north of hwy. 407 – in brampton, police said in a statement released friday.
faulkner’s convictions are for sexual offences and breaching related conditions after a previous release from custody.
he is bound by two probation orders, which end in 2027, police said.
faulkner is currently subject to several release conditions, including that he is not to be in the presence of any children under the age of 16 unless accompanied by an adult who has been approved by his parole supervisor.
police said faulkner is “at an elevated risk of re-offending” and his activities within the community will be monitored.
“members of the public are reminded that although joesph faulkner does present a safety risk to the public, his rights are guaranteed under the charter of rights and freedoms act,” police said, explaining they issued the rare public advisory “as a precautionary measure.”

police issued a similar warning to the public when faulkner was released from custody in mississauga on april 2, 2023, after serving time for a number of sex crimes.
