trio sought for attempted daylight abduction of boy in ajax

the 10-year-old boy managed to escape unharmed from the would-be kidnappers

three males are sought for the frightening attempted abduction of a young boy in ajax.
durham regional police say the incident occurred in the area of griffiths dr. and wickens cr. shortly after 2 p.m. on july 23.
“a 10-year-old male was walking home from a friend’s residence when a dark-coloured, four-door sedan — occupied by three males — stopped alongside him,” const. nicholas gluckstein said in a statement released wednesday.
he said the males called for the youngster to come to their vehicle.
when the boy ignored them, the trio drove their vehicle onto a driveway in the victim’s path and attempted to coerce him into their car.
“the victim was able to flee on foot and return to his residence,” gluckstein said, adding the boy was not physically injured.
investigators have now released an image of a suspect vehicle hoping someone recognizes it and comes forward.
the first suspect is described as a brown male, 18 to 25 years old, with curly black hair.
the second suspect is described as a brown male, 15 to 20 years old, with curly medium-length hair.
the third suspect is described as a brown male, 15 to 20 years old, with curly hair and a small beard.
anyone with information about the suspects or the suspect vehicle, or who has cellphone, dashcam, or security camera video, is urged to call police at 1-888-579-1520, ext. 2548, or crime stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-tips (8477).
