a house fire in west windsor displaced four people monday afternoon.
at around 5:20 p.m., emergency crews responded to the blaze in the 1700 block of mckay avenue. at one point, 29 firefighters were on scene and quickly knocked down the fire, officials said.
in a social media post shortly before 6 p.m., windsor fire and rescue services said the fire was under control and contained to one unit in the semi-detached home.
essex-windsor ems and windsor police attended the scene to assist, windsor fire said.
investigators determined the fire began in the basement and caused an estimated $200,000 in damages. the home had working smoke alarms.
