quebec announced on tuesday that 22 more deaths had been attributed to
covid-19,
bringing its death toll to 17,485.
the province also announced that 2,021 patients were hospitalized with covid-19 — an increase of 22 since the last time such data was published.
this is the highest level of hospitalizations — and the first time the figure has topped 2,000 — since mid-october.
of those patients, 63 were in intensive care — an increase of nine.
the province reported that 1,217 more covid-19 cases had been confirmed through pcr testing at its clinics. however, because this method of testing is not accessible to most quebecers, the case numbers are not representative of the situation in the province.
