a longtime burger king worker who went viral a few years ago has a new flame-broiled pursuit.
kevin ford became an overnight internet sensation in 2022 after sharing on social media the cheap gift bag his bk bosses gave him for his 27 years of working at the fast-food chain without missing a day.
the cook/cashier at the las vegas airport fast-food restaurant was 54 years old when the video came out of him showing off the bag’s contents, which he said seemed more like stuff that was scattered around company headquarters. he said the gifts were sent to him by hms host, the company from which burger king hires.
“i’m happy for anything. i’m thankful for anything i get,” ford said in that video, reiterating that he wasn’t ungrateful, just a bit surprised by the lackluster grab bag. he said there was a time, pre-covid, when employees would get cheques for their anniversaries with the company.
fast-forward to today and ford is ready to roll into the next chapter of his life. he has purchased a food truck as part of his retirement plan.
the devoted burger-flipper told tmz that he purchased the truck-trailer for about $20,000, including shipping, from china. it comes fully equipped with an oven, fryer and all of the required bells and whistles.
