the  behaviours in dementia toolkit  is a brand-new online library of over 200 free, practical resources that can help you better understand and compassionately respond to dementia-related changes in mood or behaviour.

the coalition has developed this new website for health care providers, care partners, and families supporting people living with dementia who may be experiencing changes in mood or behaviour. these changes can be an attempt to communicate discomfort or distress when people with dementia have difficulty expressing their physical and emotional needs or making sense of their environment. we all have a role to play in supporting people living with dementia to live well.

  • tools to support assessment, documentation and staff training
  • guidelines and algorithms to inform treatment approaches
  • information and handouts for patients and families

 for care partners and families

  • tools to improve communication and increase meaningful engagement
