when you think of the “mo”, it’s hard not to think of prostate cancer. prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men globally with more than 1.3 million men around the world diagnosed every year. across north america, there are more than 1.4 million men living with and beyond prostate cancer and one in every nine canadian men will experience a prostate cancer diagnosis. movember has spent years dedicated to improving prostate cancer research and in that time, has worked to broaden awareness for the disease globally.
through funds raised, movember has been able to help push progress forward 50 years by collaborating with experts from around the world and using funds raised to invest in projects and programs that make a real difference in the lives of men living with prostate cancer and their families. every man’s risk of developing prostate cancer increases with age, but it doesn’t only impact older men. men who are of african or caribbean descent, and men who have a family history are 2.5 times more likely to get prostate cancer. start the conversation with your doctor today
